In the final two years of World War Two, allied pilots began to report strange aerial objects flying alongside their aircraft. Were these hardened pilots hallucinating or mistaking weather patterns? Or were these sightings of Extra Terrestrial origin? Glowing balls ducked and dodged around their formations at high speed, under apparent intelligent control. Some were even photographed or filmed.

Military chiefs rushed to explain the craft in official reports as Nazi or Japanese secret weapons. At the end of the conflict the mysterious interceptor sightings faded away, to be replaced with their modern counterpart: the UFO.

The Producers of the History’s Greatest Warbirds TV series use their vast network of pilots and experts to uncover the likely truth and  examine the technology that’s once again seeing a boom in ‘Foo Fighter’ sightings – from WWII to Roswell, Area 51, and the amazing modern stealth and military technology that is designed to go unnoticed in today’s world.

Experienced and respected scientist, Dr. David Hall, researches the possible causes and explanations, enlisting a team of historians, meteorologists, pilots and engineers, with Ufologist Anna Whitty. Ex-CIA agent and celebrity spoon-bender Uri Geller joints us as we lift the lid on the military side and the ‘Black’ projects abound today – those we know about at least! These include spy planes, stealth technology, and remotely piloted aircraft which have all contributed to the Foo Fighters myth. This includes the latest generation of ‘Skunk Works’ and ‘Phantom Works’ machines that may already be flying all around us, to which we are blind…

Along the way they investigate physical causes, like “ball lightning” and other atmospheric effects. High on the list of possibilities though is the dark and secretive world of military high technology, successors to the U2 and SR71 spy planes, or even gravity defying craft, and they get as close as they can to the answers that may be lurking out there.

Finally they examine the most extreme possibility – that we are being visited by aliens from another world – or even another dimension, and perhaps even heads of state have been involved in alien alliances. Could we be reverse engineering alien craft? One witness says we’ve been working on them for decades.
