Catching Killers

Every day people get murdered. And every day, cops chase their killers. Catching Killers is the true crime series that rides with crime fighters – deep into their world of solving murders. In Catching Killers, these real crime fighters – homicide detectives, forensics specialists, profilers and prosecutors – describe how they uncover every clue, question every subject, chase every lead and take down the most deadly criminals.

Every episode follows two high-profile murder stories and describes the discovery of the murder victim and crime scene. The crime scene and the victim undergo forensic examination, and cause of death and time of death are determined. From that starting point, investigators build their case. They meet those closest to the victim, and, using highly developed interview techniques, separate truth from fiction. Each detail surrounding the killing is examined. The viewer experiences every step, clue, and revealing discovery.

Suspects are flushed out and the hunt is on. The ring tightens around the murderer as detectives prepare to arrest and capture their suspect. Catching Killers is a journey of investigative discovery, with very high stakes.

1:  Murder by Committee

Logline: Investigators catch killers that believe in teamwork.

Summary: In Australia, detectives Ian Kennedy and Kevin Raue hunt down five perverts for the gang rape and murder of a beauty queen. And in Los Angeles, FBI Special Agents Louis Perez and Jim Davidson bust four deadly Russians on a kidnapping and killing frenzy.

2:  Clan Connected Killers

Logline: Cops stop families that like to kill.

Summary: In Ohio, Toledo detectives Tom Ross and Bill Adams bring down a pair of brothers that are raping and killing young couples.  And in Florida, investigators Phil Redstone and Tom White hunt cousins impersonating cops to capture, rape and kill.  Bad blood indeed!

3: Killing for Cash

Logline: Cops capture hit men – and the people they work for.

Summary: In Georgia, Detectives Bob Ingram and Welcome Harris chase a hired killer across several states, and then chase the millionaire that hired him across the globe.  And in Arkansas, FBI Special Agents Richard O’Connell and John Kingston hunt down a gang of triggermen – and the coke-snorting con men that hire them.

4: Killing Couples

Logline: Cops break the cycle of ‘boy meets girl, then they kill’.

Summary: In Italy, Allesandro Tornabene and Luciano Garofan of the elite Carabiniere Police Force bust a pair of star-crossed lovers that butcher an innocent family.  And in America’s west, Detectives Verlin Denton and Bill Summers join forces to stop a vicious couple that kidnap sex slaves, then rape and kill them.

5: Controlling Killers

Logline: Cops punish a murdering pastor and chase a sadistic online predator.

Summary: In Alabama, Detectives Kent Quinnie and Michael Shavers bust a preacher that murders his wife, and then uses the bible to seduce her kids.  And in Kansas, Detectives Dan Owsley and Dave Brown use every trick in the book to catch the world’s first Internet serial killer.

6: Close Up Killers

Logline: Cops catch killers that strike up close and personal.

Summary: In Detroit, Lieutenant Patrick McGreevy and Chief Joseph Price hunt a twisted killer that draws his victims close, then slices their bellies open.   And near Boston, Special Agent Steve Plante teams up with Northampton’s Detective Kevin Murphy to corner and collar a serial murderess – one that kills with a syringe.

7: Killing That Special Someone

Logline: Cops collar killer spouses: one poisons husbands; the other shreds a wife.

Summary: In New York, Detectives Dominic Spinelli and Michael Norton build their case against an unhappy wife that mixes up killer cocktails for two unsuspecting husbands.  In Connecticut, forensic criminologists gather up a ground-up wife after her unhappy husband uses a wood chipper in a nasty new way.

8: Confessing Killers

Logline:  When criminals talk about murder, cops listen.

Summary: In Australia, detectives David Hickey and Darren Lees listen in as a brutal bludgeoner tells a terrible tale to a curious cellmate.  And in Alabama, Mobile investigators Mike Morgan and Wilber Williams tune in as a lovesick shooter tries to explain her murdering ways – to a corpse.

9:  Show Off Killers

Logline: Cops capture fame-seeking killers.

Summary: In Wichita, Detectives track an attention-seeking psychopath.  And out west, Detectives Chris Peterson and Rick Buckner collar another press-hungry pervert.  Some killers aren’t satisfied just to maim and murder. They want to see their name in lights.

10:  Driven to Kill

Logline: Deadly extremists are hunted down and brought to justice.

Summary: In Sweden, Detectives Eiler Augustsson and Borje Selstedt of the Stockholm Criminal Investigations Department hunt a madman that’s shooting immigrants. In Oregon, Detectives Verlin Denton and Steve Evans discover extremists in their backyard – with a deadly plan.
